Children at High Risk
In 1994, Coprodeli instituted a comprehensive program that reaches out to children from the streets of Lima or from extremely poor families in Callao. These children are at high risk for delinquency, drug use, sexual abuse, and the contraction of serious diseases.

Thanks to the support of development funds, the contributions of individual sponsors around the world, and the hard work of many volunteers, Coprodeli assists more than 500 children, providing them with food, clothing, medical assistance, and education. COPRODELI strives to preserve these high-risk children's basic human rights and reinstate them into society. This program consists of three primary components:
  • Boys and Girls Homes (Casas Hogares): Comprehensive care given to 50 children (at high risk of becoming street children) living in two homes that are similar to orphanages.
  • Outreach Centers: Daily attention to the psychological, educational and nutritional needs of over 500 children.
  • Primary Prevention: Programs for children, families, teachers and the general community designed to prevent drug use and delinquency (through psychological attention, training, social mediators, and positive recreational alternatives).

Sponsoring a Child: It costs $30.00 per month for a child to receive services at an Outreach Center. By sponsoring a child, the child will receive proper nutrition, educational assistance, and psychological attention. The children write their sponsors at least two times per year, and sponsors may write or visit their children. For more information
